銀座のアートギャラリービルのリニューアル。
以前のギャラリーにはある種の敷居の高さが求められた。そして今は、誰もが入りやすく開かれた構えが必要とされている。そこで我々は、ポストモダンの重厚感のある既存のエントランスを取り払い、人々をやさしく迎え入れるような庇とガラスのファサードをつくった。コンテンポラリーアートのギャラリーに相応しい構えとするために、ファサードは現代の技術によって大型のガラスを曲げ、柔らかな透明性を確保した。

Renewal project of an art gallery building in Ginza.
A former gallery used to require high standards but now it has the necessity to feel open and have a welcoming entrance. We removed the existing entrance which had a profound sense of postmodernity and replaced it with a facade of glass and eaves that gently welcomes visitors.
To make it suitable for contemporary art galleries, the glass facade is bent by modern technology and has achieved a soft welcoming transparency.
